Self-care is important, and it’s really a function of doing the work to be in alignment with what we stand for in the world. What we stand for could totally involve naps and vacations, and more importantly, it could encompass having the courage to have the conversations we know to have, the discipline to do the things we know to do, the faith to take a leap and create our own way, and to forgive and love unconditionally. These are the things that ultimately fulfill us and make the naps and vacations truly restorative.
Self-care is important, and it is a way of life. When our self-care becomes an avoidance tactic for the people and things that are offering us our next level of growth, it’s time to reassess.
