Your commitment is different than your plan. Your commitment is to something bigger- like inclusion, or love, or making a difference, or integrity, or excellence, etc. Your plan is a potential, specific, pathway that may or may not work. Your plan is one possible way that your commitment could get expressed, and there are multiple (maybe infinite) ways.
A plan is powerful, and it is important that you know when to throw the plan away when it isn’t working. Continuing to force a plan that is flawed will likely not fulfill your commitment, it will likely do the opposite. Sometimes plans exist just to get us to the next plan. They almost never go perfectly, and that’s why it’s important to be flexible as to how your commitment gets expressed.
You are bigger than your strategies. Treasure your commitments. Hold your plans loosely.
