In my experience, the most admirable people are the ones who are willing to do anything. Meaning, they are always willing to take out the trash, refill the toilet paper, have the uncomfortable conversation, or even lead and create a project from scratch. This is the type of person who is willing to do whatever it takes, whether it is the most menial task or the boldest undertaking.
What I find is even more admirable is the person who will not only do anything he is asked to do, he also doesn’t wait to be told what to do. That is because this person is willing to do anything that it takes to fulfill on the vision, the purpose, or the mission at stake. This person is more inspired by a future that he is creating than he is by the past. He is accountable for seeing everything as an opportunity
Being humble and willing to do what you are asked to do is a great trait to have, and not if it is out of pleasing, proving, or waiting around for someone else to do the work of having a vision. Waiting for permission, avoiding responsibility, or being scared of being seen will keep you from being inspired, confident, and clear enough to have your own vision. If you don’t have your own vision, you are fulfilling on someone else’s.
Can you be the type of person who is humble and brave enough to do anything, and confident and clear enough to be self-led?
